Join a celebration of the great outdoors and help raise funds for the future Oak Ridge Lodge and adjoining parklands along Ogg Road in Shawnee Mission Park. The planned park addition includes multiple trailheads, magnificent views, and 100 acres of wildflower meadows and native prairie surrounded by hardwood forest.

Family & Children’s Activities

Kids of all ages will enjoy fireside storytelling, nature art activities, hayrides, outdoor games and adventures, Ernie Miller Nature Center wildlife presentations, and a future park site filled with back-to-nature fun. All of the Family & Children’s Activities presented by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District are included in your festival admission.

Walk & Run Challenges

Pick your distance and your pace, and join the Kansas City Trail Nerds at 9 a.m. for the 1.5-mile Family Walk & Stroll, the 2-mile Double Ogg Road Race & Hill Climb Challenge, or the 5-mile Ogg Jogg Trail Run. The walk is free with your festival admission. The two running challenges have a $25 entry fee that includes festival admission and a t-shirt. Pre-registration through the festival website is encouraged.

Mountain Bike Challenges

If you’re up for it, anytime after 10 a.m. try taking on one or more of the mountain bike challenges mapped out by the EarthRiders Mountain Bike Club. The six courses range in difficulty from a 2-mile Family Friendly to a 5-mile Violent Violet. The Family Friendly challenge is free with your festival admission. Pre-registration through the festival website is encouraged for the other mountain bike challenges, and a $25 entry fee that includes festival admission and a t-shirt is required.

Oak Ridge Orienteering

The Possum Trot Orienteering Club will introduce you to orienteering and help you use a map – and a compass if you must – to search for markers scattered through the meadows and woods. This non-competitive challenge is free with your festival admission.

Live Music & Concessions

There will be live bluegrass music by The Konza Swamp Band from 11:30 to 2:30, and grilled treats and beverages served up by the Johnson County Sertoma Club throughout the day.
